Admiralty Capital Group has signed a three-year partnership with the Gold Coast Rollers, joining as a Gold Partner of the club as it heads into its second season in the Women’s National Wheelchair Basketball League (WNWBL).
The Rollers compete in Australia’s premier competition for elite female wheelchair athletes and are the only women’s wheelchair basketball team in Queensland playing at a national level. They are also one of only three National League teams in any sport based on the Gold Coast, alongside the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL and the Gold Coast SUNS in the AFL.
For Admiralty, the decision to back the Rollers reflects a clear thread that runs through the firm’s investment approach. Admiralty was founded on the Gold Coast with a deliberate bias toward backing what is being built here. The Rollers are more than a roster. They are a movement built on resilience, on breaking barriers in para-sport, and on creating pathways for women to compete, grow, and lead. With Brisbane 2032 in sight, the club is building a legacy of accessibility and empowerment across South-East Queensland that the firm is proud to stand alongside.
The timing of Admiralty’s partnership also coincides with a major moment for the sport in the region. Wheelchair Basketball Australia recently announced that the Gold Coast will host the National Finals Series in 2027, under a two-year agreement that brings the pinnacle of the national season to South-East Queensland. The championship weekend will feature the country’s top women’s and men’s athletes, a 3×3 tournament, and a gala awards night.
Gold Coast Mayor welcomed the announcement, calling it a coup for the city and noting that hosting such a prestigious festival underscores the Gold Coast’s commitment to attracting the best sporting events on offer. Wheelchair Basketball Australia’s Executive General Manager John Palmer has described the sport as the Formula 1 of Paralympic competition, a fast-paced, elite spectacle with growing national and international momentum.
To the players, coaches, and the wider Rollers community, the team at Admiralty is honoured to be part of the next three years.
